With reference to a claim to repayment of Income Tax preferred by the above named for the 2 years ended 5th April, 1921, it is stated in support thereof that clai: ant ie Sub Inspector of Police at Hong Kong, China.

This Department will be glad to be informed whether in the opinion of the Secretary of State, Mr. Burchill may, in the above circumstances, be regarded as employed in the service of the Crown within the meaning of those words as used in Section 26 of the Income Tax Act, 1938.
